PEO Cover Art

Here's the painting I did for this year's cover of our chapter yearbook. The themes I can use are stars and daisies, so inspiration is hard to come by. Using a photo from a seed catalogue for a reference, I tried to be a little looser than usual and it worked out well. I don't know whether the subtle shading in the petals will be discernable in the scan. Was almost done when I realized I should have been working in portrait format, rather than landscape. I guess the sides will just have to be cropped to make it work. It was done on an Arches 7" x 10" cold press block.

  3. Thanks, Anna and Sheila! Sometimes the things we just whip out turn out better than those we agonize over.

  4. J, Another very cute PEO cover. I love the depth and how the flowers look so natural. You can almost feel the gentle breeze and hear the buzzing of the bees!

  8. Janice, I love your art! I found your daisies when looking for PEO yearbook ideas, then read about the painting and the comments. In the comments you said that you've made note cards from the painting--do you sell those?

  9. Do I have permission to make some note cards from your image to use at the VA State convention in 2016?

  10. Janice, I am the Yearbook chairman for my chapter in TX. I LOVE your painting of the daisies. How can I go about using it for the cover on our yearbook? I will go to print in about a week.
